There's nothing much to see in Ipoh except the old town but outside the city there are 2 Buddhist temples built inside caves, Perak Tong and Sam Poh Tong, worth visiting. Perak Tong is at Jalan Kuala Kangsar, 4 miles north of Ipoh and Sam Poh Tong at Gunung Rapat, about 3 miles south of Ipoh. Both temples feature Buddha statues, mural paintings and stairs to climb leading to marvelous views of the surroundings.
