You have 2 choices: either by bus or by train. The bus ride takes around 3 hours and it costs RM15. Buses leave every hour from Medan Goreng bus station. There's also an express bus for Kuala Lumpur International Airport and the ticket costs RM42. The train is much slower, it takes 6 hours to get to Kuala Lumpur but it's a night ride. The train is second class and the cheapest ticket is RM10.
