You can get to Langkawi by boat from Georgetown. The boats leave from the jetty of Pesara King Edward (it's near the clock tower.) There are a lot of companies selling ferry tickets, I don't know exactly the difference between them but I bought a ticket from Langkawi Ferry Services. They have an office inside the PPC Building on Pesara King Edward. The ticket costs RM40 and you can cath the 8:30am, 8:45am, 2:45pm or 5:30pm ferries.
