Bako National Park in Kuching

If you want to see the proboscis monkey, a very rare primate living only in Borneo, go to the Bako National Park. Take the Lintang Trail (a 3 and a half hour trek) and then return on the Telok Paku side-trail, that is the reccommended trek for spotting the proboscis. Admission inside the park is RM10 and you have to register at the dock in Bako Bazaar where they give you instructions and name tags. From Bako Bazaar to the park you take a boat, it's a 20 minute ride and it costs RM40. To get to Bako Bazaar from Kuching you can take the Petra Jaya bus, a ticket is RM1.50.
